Well today in the lecture we were told to get into groups and come up with answers to some questions.
The questions were on windows applications, internet browsers and resent internet pages we had visted in the past couple of days. most of the answers to the applications i knew because i have windows vista at home and have used most of the windows application, but there were a few i hadn't heard of before like windows access, publisher and front page.
We then learnt about the difference between windows vista 07 and windows xp 03 and the pros and cons on both, like in vista word you have to customize your toolbars unlike in xp it has all the tools you need at the top of the page.
We also learnt how to find programs on windows vista by just simply goin to the search bar on the bottom left corner on the desk top.
TUTURIAL:
Today in the tut we edited this word exercise so that we got a understaing on how to edit our work so that when we hand it in it is presented 100 times better than it would look with out the skills i learnt in this class. I have posted the document onto my blog and it there for veiwing.
Then using excel we create graphs using our weekly acvtivity hours for the data. My results have been posted for veiwing.
1) This reading is on how to use Microsoft word for APA tasks. The tips they show are very basic, for e.g. How to use to backspace and delete key and how to highlight text. It then moves onto typeface fonts and margin alignment and has diagrams on how to do it.
It carries onto how to alphabetize reference lists, indents, page headers, customize auto-formatting for list, how to turn of hypertext, and dot leaders for table of content.
2) This reading was on graphic formats using adobe Photoshop. The first tip was on bitmap. This is used when dealing with pictures/graphics and when you save them your pictures save them to bitmap. Compu serve is a compressed format that is designed to minimize file transfer time over phone lines.
