week 1 intro.

SUMMARY OF THE LECTURE:

Today at our first UPC0004 lecture Helen spoke to us about what this course would cover.
we were first given a quick overview of the course and how it would help us access knowledge form the library and form Internet source. we where also asked where we would find certain information like school maps, student email and unit material.
we learnt our responsibilities like arriving on time, handing assessment on time and to log on to my email and blackboard regularly to see if there's any knew announcements.
one other thing plagiarism a big no no, but think we all knew that.
In this course we will learn basic computing skill that we can take away and use in our chosen professions. after the course we should be experts at Microsoft word, excel and death by PowerPoint.

I didn't bother about taking notes because i can jump on the Internet at home and download and print the information of blackboard, but i still plan on attending the lectures because of the discussion that will be had during the class.

WORKSHOP UNDERSTANDING:

I have accessed simo and am aware of how to use it and find my way around it, also i have been on blackboard and now know how to find all the assessment sheets and information for all my UPC classes.
I have sent an email to my tut teacher Helen to give her my URL for my blog site and to show her that i know how to send and receive emails.

READING/OUTLINE RESOURCES:
I have just visited and crated an account on image shack and i have a good understanding on to use it, my skills on image shack should improve over the weeks.

Print screen activity:

1) This reading was on PC lube and tune. It is a service station and convenience store in business since 1994. It talks about how well known computers are made with parts that we haven’t heard of before. Ethernet is the most common choice for high speed communication to the desktop.
2) How stuff works is a page on how PC and computer programs work. It told what CPU stands for-central processing unit. The motherboard is what every other component connects to. Your sound card and graphics card are important for viewing images and videos, and listening to music.
